Washington Paycheck Calculator
Washington has no state income tax on wages. (High earners may owe capital gains tax on investments, not wages.) Not tax advice.
Use this calculator to estimate your Washington paycheck. Washington is one of the few states with no state income tax, meaning you keep more of what you earn. Enter your salary or hourly rate, and we’ll calculate your take-home pay after federal taxes and any deductions you choose.
Estimate Only
This calculator provides an estimate based on current federal tax rates and your inputs. Your actual paycheck may vary due to changes in tax laws, employer policies, or small state-specific premiums (like WA Cares or PFML). For exact paycheck information, consult your HR department.

The Washington Tax Advantage
Washington is one of nine US states that does not collect a personal state income tax. This means a larger percentage of your gross pay stays in your pocket compared to workers in states with high income taxes.
However, your paycheck is still subject to federal income tax, Social Security, and Medicare (FICA). Additionally, Washington has small payroll premiums for programs like Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) and the WA Cares Fund, which your employer may deduct from your pay. Any voluntary deductions (like a 401k or health insurance) will also reduce your final take-home pay.
